One day at Kabukicho #DAY56 - People who I would have never met if I didn't do photography.
I realized that there're people who I would've never ever met if I didn't do taking photos at Kabukicho. Especially recently I take photos of people on streets as well. This is the one I took a little early evening. Two girls standing on street were quite impressive.
歌舞伎町で写真を撮っていなかったら絶対に出会うことがなかった人たちっていうのがいることに気付いた。特に最近はストリートで人も撮っていたりするし。これは夕方、ちょっと早めの時間に撮ったヤツ。通りに立つ二人の少女が印象的。
I feel like I've been taking pictures of nothing but streets and people lately, but I'll keep taking photos like this as well. Basically I like this sort of photos and it doesn't change. Anyway, I need to be careful of the rats though.
最近街と人ばっかり撮っているような気もするけど、こういう写真もまだまだ撮り続けるよ。基本的にこういう写真は好きでそれは変わらないから。ただネズミには注意しないと。

あ、これ、たぶんあかんヤツだ。
Probably due to the heavy rain the previous day, the streets were bustling with people. And I got to know the name of this street on this day, it was "Hanamichi Street". I didn't know so far.
大雨の翌日だったせいもあってか、街は人でごった返していた。で、この通りの名前をこの日に知った。『花道通り』って名前らしい。今まで知らなかった。
I went to usual sushi restaurant with my friend together on this day, but the sushi restaurant was so crowded as well. We waited about 30 minutes.
この日はいつものお寿司屋さんんに友達と一緒に行ったんだけど、お寿司屋もすごい混んでいた。30分くらい待った。
When I was taking photos outside this bar, this guy approached me and said, "You can also take photos inside the bar, including me and the customers! Go ahead!" I wonder where he was from? "This bar is famous in Kabukicho.", he said. I got his permission to publish this photo online of course. He was a jolly guy. I hope I can see him again.
ここのバーの外で写真を撮っていたら店内も撮っていいよ、自分とかお客さんのことも撮っちゃって！って言ってきてくれたおっちゃん。どこの人なんだんだろう？曰く、このバーは歌舞伎町でも有名なんだって。もちろんこの写真を掲載する許可もらったよ。愉快なおっちゃんだった。また会えるといいな。
I got a permission, so I tried to take photos inside the bar as well.
許可ももらえたしお店の中も撮ってみた。
People sitting on fences. There was almost no space on the fences to sit on due to the number of people sitting on. And almost half of them seemed to be forigners.
柵に腰掛ける人たち。座っている人が多くて柵にはもう座れる場所がほとんどなかった。そしてその半分くらいは外国人の方たちだった。
Yep, they look happy. Actually there was also a couple, a girl who were crying and a man, nearby while having a conversation about breaking up. I took a photo of them too, but their faces are visible, so I can't publish it.
うん、しあわせそう。実はこのすぐ近くに別れ話をしながら泣いている女の子と男性のカップルもいて、その二人の写真も撮ったんだけど顔が出ちゃうし載せられない。
I pray that this old man is also happy.
おじちゃんもしあわせであることを祈るよ。
A city where there are as many stories as the number of people there, intricately those intertwined, that is this. When I started taking photos in in this city, I didn't pay much attention to such things. However, as I spend more time in this city, I've found myself becoming interested in those aspects. The days of capturing such photographs will continue.

人の数だけあるストーリーが複雑に絡み合っている街、それがここ。最初にこの街に来た頃はそんなの気にしていなかったけど、この街で過ごす時間が長くなっていくにしたがってそういうのに興味が湧くようになってしまった。そんな写真を撮る日々は続いていく。
