One day@Kabukicho #DAY176 - I had completely forgotten about Valentine's Day.
One day in early February, I received a message from my usual friend asking, "Can we meet on the 14th?". The 14th was a weekend, but unfortunately I had to somehow deal with a pile of work that had accumulated, so I told it to her.
She would give me chocolate because it's Valentine's Day, she says. I've been so busy lately that I completely forgot about that event. Back in the days when I worked at a large office in Shibuya, I sometimes received chocolates from team members, but now I work almost entirely remotely. I hardly have any opportunities to meet people in person.
Even I, who have no idea about the price range of chocolates, can clearly see that it's a high-end chocolate. I'm also very sorry that I can't remember what I received last year. So, she explained in detail about what I received last year.
A drugstore right in front of the Kabukicho police box. I thought the contrast between the bright lights inside the store and the darkness outside was nice, so I took a photo. I was only driven by the desire to take the photo.
As I mentioned in a previous article not too long ago, I recently rent a small office in Shibuya. I've really been working from home and completely shut in for the past few years, so I think sometimes I'd like to go to the office sometimes I rent and work there. That being said, it's probably once or twice a month. I think of increasing the opportunities to meet people in person.
I also want to take and keep such miscellaneous photos. Because I think that I can only take this kind of photo in a bustling city at night. The scenery that can be taken because it's in the middle of a bustling downtown area. And the scenery that I want to take.
TŌYOKO, or rather Toho Building, has various fast food restaurants and eateries, so it always feels like Uber Eats pickups constantly come. In the previous article, I mentioned Kabukicho and Uber Eats a bit, but it seems like it would be tough to even ride a bike with the crowded streets before the last train.
I thought about going to Kabukicho this weekend, but it's already going to be March this weekend. It's so fast. Hmm... I might be unable to go. This weekend might not be the right time to go to Kabukicho. I have quite a bit of work that needs to be done... Well, I guess it can't be helped.
I like the sight of three or a few more people walking together like this, not just men and woman. The combination of people walking in this city is mostly hosts and female customers, it feels like. Among friends, among lovers, such normal pairings are indeed rare. Well, nobody can deny that's exactly what this city is.
See you then.
