27-inch display is so comfortable to work and do some more.
It's been about 2 months since I started using 27-inch Studio Display. I hadn't paid much attention to the details, but the 27-inch 5K display is incredibly convenient anyway.
27インチの Studio Display を使い出してから2ヶ月くらいかな？あまり細かいことは気にしていなかったんだけど、なんだかんだで27インチの 5K はめっちゃ便利。
Two windows, one screen.
There're various things in my work, one of important things of them is to code. A 27-inch 5K resolution screen allows me to comfortably open both a text editor and a web browser side by side on a single screen, just like in the screenshot above. This is awesome. Especially in my case, I mostly work on web-related projects when it comes to code, So it's quite efficient to be able to open Emacs and a web browser at the same time, and it boosts productivity more and more.
仕事の中でいろいろなことをしているけど、その中でも重要なことのひとつがコードを書くこと。27インチで 5K の解像度があると上のスクリーンショットみたいに1画面にエディタとブラウザの2つを1画面にそれぞれ余裕のあるサイズで開けて最高。特に自分の場合はコードって言ってもウェブ系のモノを書いていることがほとんどだから、Emacs とブラウザを同時に開いておけるってそれだけでかなり効率がいい。

It's also comfortable when doing design works with Adobe XD, Photoshop and so on. But it had been already comfortable with the previous 21.5-inch 4K display I used, now it's like getting more comfortable.
Rather than that, when I'm working or doing various tasks with the iPad or being in front of the desk anyway, 27-inch screen is surely much better for watching YouTube or other videos, it's more immersive and enjoyable than the 21.5-inch screen. Maybe because of it, recently I watch YouTube, Netflix and others without moving from in front of the desk when I just want to watch them for a bit.
Adobe XD とか Photoshop とかでデザイン関連の仕事している時もすごい快適。まあこれは前に使っていた21.5インチの 4K でも快適だったのがさらに快適になった感じかな。
それよりも仕事だったり諸々の作業を iPad でしている時とか・・・とりあえずデスクの前いる時に YouTube とかを観るのには21.5インチよりもやっぱり27インチの画面の方が迫力があっていい。そのせいもあってか、ちょっと YouTube でもみるかーとか Netflix でも U-NEXT でも少し見ようかなくらいの時はわざわざテレビの前に移動しなくなったな。
How about a display of MacBook Pro itself?
How about a display of MacBook Pro itself then. Now it's become not the main display. It's perfectly the sub display. I've written about it a bit on another article before. When I'm working on the 27-inch main display and don't need the sub display, I play some videos on YouTube as background music for work, or I use it to open some related documents when joinning online meetings. However, the most of things usually can be done just on the 27-inch display.
Though it's a bit late, now I'm starting to realize how great a wide display is.
じゃあ MacBook Pro 本体のディスプレイはどうなのか、と。今はもうメインディスプレイじゃなくなった。完全にサブディスプレイ。そのことは前にちょっと別の記事でも書いたね。メインの27インチで作業をしている時でサブディスプレイが特に必要ない時なんかは作業BGMを YouTube で流すとかもしているし、オンラインMTGをしている時なんかは関連資料を開くのにも使っている感じ。でもまあほとんどのことは27インチディスプレイだけでできちゃう感じ。
今更になって広いディスプレイってこんなにいいのかーって実感している。
Recently I try making various utility apps using Electron for myself to make working environment more convinient. It's changed much, though I hadn't used Electron for a while, about couple years. I mean, it's also not bad to develop them in Xcode, but personally it's great to be able to develop with Emacs and terminal.

最近作業環境を便利にするためにまた Electron で自分用のユーティリティを作ったりいろいろしている。しばらく・・・何年か Electron 使っていなかったんだけど、いろいろ変わっているねぇ。別に Xcode で作ってもいいんだけど、やっぱり Emacs とターミナルがあれば開発できちゃうってのが個人的にはいいんだよな。
