One day at Kabukicho #DAY69 - My friend's birthday and a night many people wearing yukata somehow.
This day was the birthday of my friend I usually go out for dinner and hang out. The friend says that she wouldn't want to spend the moment her birthday comes alone in her apartment, so we decided to have dinner together.
Just like the last time I visited Kabukicho, I noticed quite a few people wearing yukata again on this day as well. By the way, yukata is a casual summer kimono. Is it because it's summer after all? Or are there any specific events or festivals happening? I know that there's a beer hall event held in front of the Kabukicho Tower.
I found a sign of cigarettes written in Hangul.
There's beautiful bokeh of enneagon, once I tried to stop down a bit and approached. I didn't notice at all when I was taking, but is someone collapsing in the background?
There was a police car. But there weren't any police officers. It seemed something happened. It was parked there for a quite long time.
I was quite curious about the police car, so I was wandering around the area near Yasukuni Street and the Ward office Street for a while. I didn't really find out what happened after all, anyway.
This is a person next to me when I was waiting at a traffic signal. She had a simple fashion style, but I liked it, so I ended up taking a photo.
It's prohibited to smoke on streets in Shinjuku, but nobody seems to care about that in case of Kabukicho. Moreover, there's only one smoking area in Kabukicho area, so it's quite challenging to enforce the ban.
I tried capturing a scene commonly seen in Kabukicho late night for the final shot. At this time, I couldn't have known that a few days later I would find myself involved in a similar situation. By the way, I was able to celebrate my friend's birthday on this day without any issues.
See you then.
