One day＠somewhere #DAY24 to #DAY25 - Spending the year-end and New Year holidays at my brother's place for the first time.
Over the year-end and New Year holidays, I spent two nights and three days split between Karuizawa and Niigata, one night at a hotel in Karuizawa, and one night at my brother's place, which I was visiting for the first time. I came back home on January 1st to avoid the U-turn travel rush. Last time I went on a two-night, three-day trip, I counted the title's #DAY XX as covering two days, so I'll do the same this time.
年末年始は軽井沢のホテルに一泊、初めて訪れる弟の自宅に一泊、ってことでまた2泊3日で軽井沢と新潟で過ごしていました。帰省のUターンラッシュを避けたいから1月1日に自宅に帰ってきたけどね。前回も2泊3日で旅行に行った時はタイトルの #DAY XX を2日分カウントしたから、今回もそんな感じで。
The place I stayed on December 30th was a hotel in Karuizawa that I've been to before. After arriving at the hotel, parking the car, and just as I was about to grab my bags, I heard voices calling out from afar "Uncle Nobuyuki!". For a moment, I had no idea what was going on, but when I looked around, I spotted my two nephews at a window on one of the upper floors of the hotel. I was surprised. It was quite a distance, pretty impressive that they noticed I'd arrived.
12月30日の宿泊先は以前にも行ったことのある軽井沢のホテル。ホテルに到着して車を停めて、荷物を持って・・・と思ったら『のぶゆきおじさーん！！』って遠くから自分を呼ぶ声が聞こえる。一瞬よくわからなかったんだけど、周りを見渡してみるとホテルの上の階の窓に甥っ子二人の姿が。びっくりした。結構な距離だったけど、よく自分が到着したことに気づいたな。
I'm not sure whether this photo was taken by my older nephew or the younger one. Whenever we travel now, it's basically the default that my nephews end up using one of my cameras, the Leica Q. This time around, even my father who used to be into photography years ago, took a few shots with the Leica Q as well.
この写真って甥っ子の・・・上の子が撮ったのか下の子が撮ったのか。もう旅行に行くと甥っ子達が自分のカメラの片方、Leica Q を使っているのがデフォみたくなっている。ちなみに今回は昔写真をやっていた父も Leica Q で何枚か撮っていた。
On the night of the 31st, I stayed over at my brother's family's place for the first time. They had prepared a ton of food, sushi, salad, sashimi... and it was insanely good. As I mentioned at the beginning, I wanted to avoid the expressway U-turn travel rush, so I left my brother's place around noon on January 1st. I made it back home safely without getting stuck in any major traffic jams. Next time, we're planning to go somewhere together again in the spring.

31日の夜は初めて訪問する弟一家の家に宿泊。弟夫婦が大量のお寿司にサラダにお刺身にと用意してくれていて・・・めちゃくちゃおいしかった。冒頭にも書いた通り、高速道路のUターンラッシュとか避けたかったので、1月1日のお昼頃には弟宅から帰路へ。無事、目立った渋滞に巻き込まれることもなく帰ってこれました。次回は春頃にみんなでまたどっかに行くのを予定しています。
