One day at Kabukicho #DAY140 - The bustling city even though it had been raining heavily just moments before.
I had a plan to go to Kabukicho as usual on this day. However, when I checked the weather during the day, heavy rain was forecasted until just before the meeting time. I was worried that the shooting would be in the rain like last time again. However, the rain had stopped by the time I arrived and my concerns were unfounded. It made me feel relieved.
So, Kabukicho, which should have been experiencing heavy rain until just before this photo was taken. I thought there would be fewer people out on this day because of the rain, but that prediction of mine was eventually way off.
I wonder it could be that everyone was inside some bars and restaurants while it was raining, and then they came out to move to another place because the rain stopped?
A sushi restaurant that I have been to several times before. Because my health has been a bit delicate since the beginning of this year, I haven't had the chance to come here. This poster says that this year marks the 15th anniversary and has been up for a while, and I've been curious about it.
You can see the rain still lingering on the poorly draining sidewalk.
This is an Okinawa soba restaurant. I was interested in it a littele and wanted to try it out, but this restaurant seems to be suited more for people who come after drinking at night. It may not be the best fit for people like me and my friend who want to spend time just chatting casually without alcohol.
The street itself where that Okinawan soba restaurant is located is a back alley in a drinking district. It probably wouldn't be suitable for people like us who're always completely sober and just want to chat endlessly. However, it is also scary to drink alcohol in Kabukicho. I can't drink because I came by car in the first place, anyway. Even without that, maybe I don't need to drink alcohol in this city. I come to Kabukicho once or twice a week, but I don't mean that I particularly enjoy going out drinking. I want to take photos of this city, but what I seek when spending time with friends is not the hustle and bustle of a lively city. In fact, I'm not really a fan of busy places...
See you then.
