Resume of writing instruments #1 - I noticed that there have been several fountain pens that I have been using for over 10 years.
I think it's been about 15 years since my everyday writing utensil became fountain pens. Until then, I had always been someone who exclusively used mechanical pencils since my student days, but one day I suddenly started using fountain pens.
普段使いの筆記具が万年筆になったのは、かれこれ15年くらい前からだと思う。それまでは学生時代からずーっとシャーペンばっかり使っている人だったのに、ある日突然万年筆を使い出したんだ。
When I was a student, I always used mechanical pencils when it came to writing instruments. I only used to use mechanical pencils. I don't even have any memory of using ballpoint pens or markers. Even after becoming a working adult, I think I continued to use mechanical pencils for a while just as I did during my student days.
One day, suddenly, I started using a fountain pen, even though I never used one before.
学生の頃は筆記具といえばずーっとシャーペンを使っていた。ホント、シャーペンばっかり。ボールペンやラインマーカーの類すら使っていた記憶が全くない。社会人になってからも最初しばらくは学生時代からの流れでそのままシャーペンを使っていたと思う。
そんな自分がある日突然、万年筆を使い出すようになった。
The trigger was a fountain pen borrowed from an acquaintance at one point. I became completely captivated by the writing feel that I had never experienced before.
After that, from my mid-20s to late 20s, actually I had a phase collectiing fountain pens here and there as if it was a hobby. So, I have several fountain pens, especially I have many different sizes of Montblanc Meisterstück. Also I have a fountain pen of LAMY 2000 and a 4-color pen as well, though it's not a fountain pen.
By the way, the photo above is one taken over 10 years ago, but exactly a Meisterstück 146 is just beside a notebook.
きっかけはとある時に知人から借りた万年筆だった。それまで自分が経験したことのない書き心地にすっかり虜になってしまった。
その後、20代半ばから20代後半くらいかな、実はちょこちょこと万年筆を買い漁るのが一時期は趣味みたいになっていた。そんなこともあって万年筆は結構何本も持っていて、特にモンブランのマイスターシュテュックはいろんなサイズ違いで何本も持っている。あと LAMY 2000 は万年筆も持っているし4色ボールペンも持っている。
ちなみに上の写真は10年以上前の写真なんだけど、まさに手帳にマイスターシュテュックの 146 を挿してあるな。
I always carried my LAMY 2000 fountain pen with me when I had many meetings or something to go out before the COVID-19 pandemic, for more over 10 years. The LAMY 2000 is not a cheap pen by any means, but it's not excessively luxurious either. I've always thought of it as a pen that I can casually use without feeling too extravagant, and I still think that way today.
Humans are creatures that are prone to desire. So, actually, the situation has been a little different recently. As I work mostly from home, the pen I often use has also changed to a Montblanc Meisterstück 149. By the way, I'm thinking about writing about this story in another article, but the fountain pens I usually use are all piston-fillers. I also have cartridge fountain pens, but I don't use them.
BEFORE コロナとでも言うべきか、打ち合わせだなんだって外出が多かった頃は LAMY 2000 の万年筆を10年以上常に持ち歩いていた。LAMY 2000 だって決してそんなに安いペンではないんだけど、これがまた特別高級すぎることもなく、ざっくばらんに付き合えるペンだなってずーっと思っていたし今でも思っている。
ただ人間と言うのは欲が出る生き物だ。なので実はここ最近はちょっと事情が違う。ほとんど自宅で仕事をしていることもあって、主だって使うペンが変わったんだ、モンブランのマイスターシュテュックの 149 に。ちなみにこの話についてはまた別の記事で書こうかとも思っているけど、普段使っている万年筆は基本的に全て吸入式。カートリッジ式の万年筆も持っているけど使っていない。
When I tried to write an article about writing instruments, there were too many things to write about and I couldn't organize them at all... So I decided to write it in several parts. However, I'm not writing with a specific plan in mind, so I have no idea what the next article will be like at all.

筆記具のことを記事に書こうとしたら書けることが多すぎて全然まとまらなくって・・・と言うことで数回に分けて書いていくことにした。ただ計画立てて書いているわけではないので、次回がどんな感じの記事になるのかはまだ全然わかってないっす。
