Resume of writing instruments #2 - Basically I don't use cartridge fountain pens.
I briefly mentioned in the previous article, cartridge-type fountain pens are included in fountain pens that I got over 10 years ato, but I don't use them at all now. I think I used tot use them when I first got them...
前回の記事で少し触れたけど、手元には軽く10年以上前に手に入れたカートリッジ式の万年筆があったりはするけど、今は一切使っていない。手に入れた当時は使っていたと思うんだけど・・・。
One of the fountain pens I used to use frequently in the past is the LAMY Safari. It's not that expensive, and I should've had a few of them with different tip sizes and body colors. The LAMY Safari is a dual-use pen that can be used with both cartridges and a converter. It's also over 10 years ago, but I think I was using a converter at the time when I used to use the LAMY Safari with it. Actually, I hardly have any memory of buying cartridges for ountain pens.
昔よく使っていた万年筆、その中に LAMY Safari がある。そんなに高くないし、ペン先の太さや本体の色違いで何本か持っていたはず。そんな LAMY Safari はカートリッジとコンバーターの両用式だ。これも10年以上昔の話になるけど、使っていた当時はコンバーターで使っていたんだと思う。そもそも万年筆用のカートリッジって買った記憶自体がほとんどない。
I don't use a converter-type or cartridge-type fountain pen. So what kind of fountain pen I use is there's no other choice, but a piston filler type. I actually use a LAMY 2000 fountain pen when I go out, and at home I use a Montblanc Meisterstück 149, both of which are piston-fill fountain pens. I've written about those in the previous article.
コンバーター式でもなく、カートリッジ式でもない、じゃあどんな万年筆を使っているのかと言ったら、吸入式一択だ。.実際に自分が普段使っているのは外出時なんかは LAMY 2000 万年筆だし、自宅ではモンブランのマイスターシュテュックの 149、どちらも吸入式の万年筆だ。この辺の話は前回の記事で書いただろう。
So, why I don't use cartridge fountain pens? The reason is simple, it's because piston-fill type pens are more convenient and easier to use for me. To be honest, I think even the converter type is a troublesome.
However, I understand that there're opinions that say it's more convenient to use a cartridge-type pen because we can simply replace the cartridge when the ink runs out. I can understand that as well. So the fact that I prefer piston-fill type is really just a matter of personal preference.
Even though, personally I like the piston-fill type that allows us to remove or add ink just by turning the tail axis.
さて、なぜカートリッジ式の万年筆を使わないのか？理由は簡単、吸入式の方が自分には手軽で使いやすいからだ。正直、コンバーター式ですらめんどくさいなって思う。
ただここって結構意見が分かれるところだとは思っている。インクがなくなったらカートリッジを差し替えるだけでいいカートリッジ式の方が手軽でいいじゃんって意見があることはわかっている。それも理解はできる。だから自分が吸入式が好きってのは、ホントにただの好みの問題でしかない。
それでもただ尻軸を回すだけでインクを抜いたり入れたりできる吸入式が個人的には好きなんだよなぁ。
One more thing, in the case of cartridge-type pens, the flow of ink is one-way from the cartridge to the nib, but I've heard that with piston fillers or converter type, when we fill the ink, it flows from the nib to the pen body, so this is considered a kind of maintenance. I'm not sure that is really the fact or not though.
あとカートリッジ式の場合、インクの流れる方向はカートリッジからペン先の一方通行なんだけど、吸入式やコンバーター式はインクを入れる時にインクがペン先からペン本体方向に流れるから、これがある種のメンテナンスになっている、なんて話も聞いたことはある。真偽のほどは定かじゃないけど。
The story of writing utensils, mainly focusing on fountain pens as initially planned has been completed in both of the previous article and this article. However, the name of this series (?) includes "writing instruments", but I also want to write about notebooks and planners, not just writing instruments.
Well, I'm gonna do something if the time comes in reality.
一応当初予定していた筆記用具に関する話、主に万年筆に関する話は前回と今回で書き切ることができた。ただこの連載（？）の名前って「筆記用具」って入っているんだけど、筆記用具じゃなくてノートとか手帳の話も書きたくなってきた。
ま、その時はその時で。
