One day at Kabukicho #DAY122 - The first filming Kabukicho of the new year.
This day was the first time in 2024 to visit Kabukicho. I planned to go on a trip with my dad and my brother's family during the year-end and New Year holidays, but unfortunately, my beloved dog who is over 18 years old living with my dad, was not feeling well, so I canceled the trip and went to Niigata. Before going back to my parents' house, I was really worried about her, my beloved dog's condition because it was really bad. However, it seems that the medication at an animal hospital has started to work and it has regained a bit of energy. That alone is enough for me.
この日は2024年になって初めての歌舞伎町。年末年始は父と弟家族と旅行に行く予定だったんだけど、ちょっと実家の18歳を過ぎた愛犬が体調不良で新潟に行ってました。実家に行く前はその愛犬の調子が本当に悪くてすごい心配していたんだけど、動物病院での薬が効いて少し元気を取り戻してくれたみたい。もうそれだけで十分。
During the first three days of the new year, there was only a few people in the city as expected. Though this street is where there're not so many people even the usual neither.
さすがにまだ正月の三が日の最中、街はほとんど人がいなかった。まあこの通りは普段からそんなに人が多いところではないんだけど。
By the way, the name of my beloved dog living with my dad is Myu (Maybe pronounciation is like mew). Now she's 18 years and 10 months old. She fell ill at the end of the year and became unable to eat, drink, or even walk. To be honest, I was even worried if she would stay well until I go back to my parents' house, by the time I return to my parents' house, she got to be able to eat meals and drink water. But she still can't walk. It seems that she still have the desire to walk, so she had practiced getting up over and over again. And after returning home from my parents' house, I received a photo of her standing up for a bit. Honestly, it made me cry.
ちなみに実家の愛犬はミューって名前。現在18歳10か月。年末に体調を崩してしまって食べることも飲むことも、歩くこともできなくなってしまった。正直自分が実家に行くまで元気で居てくれるのかすら心配だったんだけど、実家に戻る頃にはごはん食べれるようになって水も飲めるようになってくれて。ただ歩けなくって。それでも歩きたいって想いはあってくれるみたいで何度も何度も立ち上がる練習をしていた。そして実家から戻った後、とりあえず立ち上がれるようにはなったって写真が届いた。正直泣いた。
And if Yuzu-san were to disappear... I imagined such scenario at the end of the year, and it would just be so heartbreaking. I imagined it and it made me cry again. Why I was able to get through the last year which there was a lot of challenges somehow, that's because there was Yuzu-san. Thanks to him.
そして年末の自分はゆずさんがいなくなってしまったら・・・みたいな想像をしてしまったらもう悲しくて悲しくて。想像してやっぱり泣いていた。去年いろいろあった中でもなんとかやってこれたのはゆずさんがいてくれたおかげだしな。
What can be seen in the photo ahead is TŌYOKO. There is usually tables and chairs set up on the street here in front of this photo and it's always very bright, but it was so silent on this day as you see.
この先の写真に見えるのはトー横。写真手前なんかはいつもは路上にテーブルが出ててすごい明るいところなんだけど、この日は見ての通り静まり返っていた。
In the city where there's less people different from the usual, I found a group, so I ended up to take a photo.
いつもと違って人が全然いない街の中でグループを発見して思わず撮ってしまった。
This is a street where is usually crowded with people walking by and touts. But as you see. There's almost nobody around.
ここなんかいつもだったら客引きに通行する人にとでごった返している場所だからな。でもこんな感じ。ほとんど誰もいない。
Why is there so much garbage even though there are not many people around?
なんでこんなに人はいないのにこんなにゴミは出ているんだ？
Oh, by the way, I went to the usual movie theater with my friend to watch a movie at the beginning of the new year on this day. We watched "Wonka". She had been telling me that she wanted to watch since last year. I had also been told to watch the previous film "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", so I watched it during daytime of this day to prepare.
そうそう、この日はまたいつもの映画館で新年早々友達と映画を観てきた。『ウォンカとチョコレート工場のはじまり』を観てきた。去年からずーっと観たいって言っていたんだよね。前作の『チャーリーとチョコレート工場』もずっと観るように言われていたし。ってことで前作はこの日の昼間にちゃんと観て予習しておいた。
This is the way to the usual parking lot. This may be the first time I have ever seen there's almost nobody here like this.
いつもの駐車場への道。ここもこんなに見事なくらいに人がいないの初めて見たかもしれない。
The last year was a year personally too many things happened. This year... there has already been a huge earthquake happened, and an unbelieable aviation incindent happened at Haneda Airport on the next day of that, so it's filled with sad news in Japan even though only a few days went by since new year comes. But I cannot help but wish. I wish this year will be a good year.

去年はホント個人的にいろいろありすぎる年だった。今年は・・・まだ年が明けたばっかりだっていうのに、すでに元日には大地震が発生したり、その翌日には羽田で飛行機事故が起きたりと悲しいニュースだらけ。でも願わずにはいられない。今年がいい年になりますように。
