I found a nice cafe with a good atmosphere not far from my house that stays open until late at night.
Recently, it seems like trendy cafes are overflowing in the city, but on the other hand, I have been lamenting for a long time that there are hardly any Showa retro-style cafe left. By the way, the photo above is a cafe which has a good atmosphere in Seiseki Sakuragaoka. However, it's not open very late, the operating hours are only until 8 pm.
最近、おしゃれなカフェみたいなのは街中に溢れるようになってきた一方で、昭和レトロな雰囲気のある the 喫茶店みたいなのがほとんどなくなってしまったよなぁ・・・と長いこと嘆いていた。ちなみに上の写真は聖蹟桜ヶ丘にあるいい雰囲気の喫茶店。ただ営業時間が20時までとかそんなに長くない。
A cafe I took shelter as a while ago when it started raining when I was taking photos in Kabukicho, is the cafe which has the perfect atmosphere and is open even late at night, but it would be too time-consuming to go to Kabukicho just to visit that cafe. It would take about 35-40 minutes one way, no matter what.
ちょっと前に歌舞伎町で写真を撮っていた時に雨が降ってきて雨宿りしていた喫茶店なんかはまさにそういう雰囲気のある上に深夜でもやっているっていう条件が揃った喫茶店なんだけど、さすがにあの喫茶店に行くためだけに歌舞伎町に行くのも時間的に厳しい。どうしても片道35分〜40分くらいはかかってしまうから。
There is a Doutor cafe attached to a gas station, which is open late at night, as it is about 15-minutes drive from my house, so I sometimes go there actually. However, maybe due to the large number of seats, I always felt a bit uncomfortable and couldn't quite relax there, to be honest. There is also a Starbucks near my house, and I occasionally go there too and that is not bad though... I got it. What I want for cafe is where to drink coffee smoking a cigarette relaxing.
深夜営業している喫茶店って意味ではガソリンスタンドに併設されているドトールが家から15分くらいのところにあって、実際たまに行くこともあった。ただ席数が多いせいか、なんかイマイチ落ち着かない、しっくりこないってのが正直な印象だった。家の近くにスタバもあって、そっちもたまに行っていたし悪くはないんだけど・・・わかった、自分は喫茶店でコーヒーを飲みながらゆっくりタバコを吸いたいんだ。
I'd been thinking about that for a long time, but finally I found a cafe not too far from home that grants all my wishes. It's a cafe open until 2 am. Smoking is allowed in all seats. For those who dislike the smell of cigarette smoke, this place may be unbearable. But it's okay to have a shop like that occasionally, right?
Since it is not a chain store but a privately-owned shop, the prices are a bit higher compared to Doutor or Starbucks. The first cup of coffee, or anything else, is 900 yen. Refills are 500 yen for anything. It's not cheap, but it's not so expensive that you need to make a fuss about it. Just think of it as including a cover charge for the first drink.
そんなことをずっと思っていたんだけど・・・全てを叶えてくれる喫茶店を家からそんなに遠くないところに見つけた。深夜26時までやっている喫茶店。全席喫煙席。タバコの煙の匂いが嫌いな人には耐えられない場所かもしれない。けどたまにはそんなお店があってもいいじゃん。
チェーン店ではなくて個人でやっているお店なのでドトールやスタバに比べたら少し高い。コーヒーでもなんでも最初の一杯は900円。おかわりはなんでも500円。安くはないけど取り立てて騒ぐほど高くもない。まあ一杯目はチャージを含んでいるくらいの感覚でいればいい。
I have been there only once in reality. But it seems like a good choice as one of the options for spending a night alone. By the way, actually I was writing this article at that cafe until halfway. Because when I entered the shop and relaxed, I couldn't help but feel moved as I realized, "Ah, this is the kind of atmosphere I've been looking for...".
I'm definitely going again soon. Or rather... I want to keep going.
実際に行ったのはまだ一回だけ。だけどひとりの夜の過ごし方の選択肢のひとつとしてよさそう。ちなみにこの記事も途中まではその喫茶店で書いていた。お店に入ってゆっくりしていたら、あー、こういう雰囲気を求めていたんだよなぁ・・・ってなんだか感動してしまって。
近いうちにまた絶対行こう。というか・・・通いたい。
