The monochrome laser printer I bought for work is super convenient.
These days, we can handle most things digitally, but since starting my new company, I've had to print out documents here and there. Whenever I needed to, I just used convenience store printers, and that was enough. But now, a formidable opponent has appeared.
このご時世、かなりのことはデジタルで完結できるようになってきているんだけど、新会社作ってからちょこちょこと紙に印刷しないといけないドキュメントがあったりした。必要な時はコンビニプリントで済ませていたし、それで事足りていた。ただここに来て強敵が現れた。
The formidable opponent that appeared was address label printing. Convenience store printers only handle plain paper, so you can't print address labels with them. As you can imagine, handwriting addresses on mail every time is just way too much of a hassle. So even though I really didn't want to add more stuff, I ended up buying a printer.
現れた強敵、それは宛名ラベルの印刷。コンビニプリントは普通紙でしかプリントできない。だから宛名ラベルの印刷ができないわけだ。さすがに郵便物の宛名をその度に書くのはだるすぎる。ということで物を出来る限り増やしたくはないんだけど、プリンターを買ってしまったわけだ。
By the way, the one I bought is probably the cheapest monochrome laser printer from Canon. Even though it was cheap, it does exactly the job I need it to, and that's just right for me.
At first, I was recommended an inkjet printer, but I wasn't really into the idea. The ink is expensive and needs to be replaced way too often. Inkjet printers also tend to run nozzle cleaning all the time, which makes the ink run out really quickly.
ちなみに買ったのは Canon のおそらく一番安いモノクロレーザープリンター。安いとか言っても、自分が望んだ仕事はちゃんとしてくれていて、これくらいがちょうどいい。
最初はインクジェットとかオススメされたりしたんだけど、インク代がめちゃくちゃ高い上に交換頻度もめちゃくちゃ高いインクジェットプリンターはちょっとなーって思って。インクジェットプリンターってすぐノズル清掃始めて、そのまますぐインク無くなっちゃうから。
So, since inkjet printers are such a hassle to maintain, I got rid of mine years ago and haven't had a printer at home since. But I've gotta say, a monochrome laser printer isn't bad at all. Originally, I bought it for printing address labels, but of course it can print regular documents too. Just today, I was printing out some paperwork I absolutely need in paper form for tomorrow.
Ah, even though I never wanted it, my study-slash-workspace at home is gradually turning into an office office...
そんなわけでメンテナンスが面倒で何年も前にインクジェットプリンターは処分してうちにはプリンターがなかったんだけど、モノクロレーザープリンターは悪くないね。もともとは宛名シールの印刷のために買ったわけだけど、当然普通のドキュメントも印刷できるし、今日も明日どうしても紙で必要な書類を印刷していた。
あー、望んでいないのに自宅の書斎 兼 ワークスペースがオフィスの執務室化していく・・・。
